Roy E. Wagner

Roy E. Wagner, 88, of Back Mountain Road, passed away Aug. 3, 2020, at his home.

He was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Lewistown, to the late Florence Rigel and Walker Wagner. He was married to Arla L. (Heath) Wagner, who preceded him in death.

Roy was a graduate of Beaver Vocation school.

He worked throughout his life driving truck for Bickel’s and Ritter Feeds and also worked at Stanley Woodworking and Remmey Pallet.

Roy was a member of Mount Bethel Church, in McClure.

He was also a past Chief of the McClure Fire Company and a lifetime member of the Central District Volunteer Firemen’s Association.

In his spare time he enjoyed going on drives around the countryside and stopping at Harvey’s for coffee and loved farming.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Michael Furgison; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Roy E. Wagner Jr. and Johnny and Marilyn Powell; five grandchildren, Mindy Tate, Jennifer Simmonds and husband, Kahmal, Kirklyn Wagner and wife, Ashley, and Jeffrey and Ryan Furgison; eight great-grandchildren, Marquis, Kasidi, Kasya, Malakai, Lorin, Wyatt, Drake and Max.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Freda Wells and a son, Brandon in infancy.

Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman Street, Beavertown.

The family request that attendees wear face coverings and follow CDC guidelines for social distancing.

Burial will be private in the McClure Union Cemetery.
