Betty L. Ammon

Betty L. Ammon, 96, of Lockport Road, Lewistown, went to be with the Lord Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, at her home.

Born Aug. 31, 1923, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Harry F. and Margaret M. (Peachey) Wilson. Her husband of 47 years, Robert M. Ammon, whom she married Sept. 25, 1943, preceded her in death Feb. 3, 1991.

Also preceding her in death was a brother, William G. Wilson; and a great-granddaughter, Grace Anna Ammon.

Surviving are: a daughter, Josephine A. Dreibelbis and husband, W. Doran, of Pennsylvania Furnace; a son, William R. Ammon and wife, Helen Ann, of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Michael W. Ammon and wife, Jill K., of Lewistown, Ellen M. Ammon, of Lewistown, Christine A. Ammon, of Thompsontown; and a great-grandson, Clayton R. Ammon.

A homemaker and dedicated farm wife alongside her husband, early in life she also worked as a secretary at the American Viscose Corporation.

Betty was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a talented seamstress.

Her family is grateful for the care she received at her home and wishes to thank all her caregivers; especially Erma Zook and Marian Peachey, as well as the staff of In Home Services of Central PA.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, at Juniata Memorial Park with Pastor Daniel Stegeman officiating.
