Richard Eugene ‘Wildman’ Rupert

Richard Eugene “Wildman” Rupert, 66, of Waynesboro, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2020, at WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Aug. 16, 1953, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Ralph Jr. and Dorothy L. (Sheaffer) Rupert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha E. Rupert, and a sister, Gaye Fisher.

Richard is survived by: wife, Blanche (Johns) Rupert; children, Jennifer L. Jenkins and husband, Dustin, of Mount Union, and Richard E. ‘Ricky’ Rupert and companion, Caitlyn Shoop, of McVeytown; step-children, Dawn M. Kapoten and husband, Michael, of Waynesboro, Joseph Reece and wife, Leslie, of Nashville, Shannon L. Kendall and husband, Brian, of Christiansburg, Va., and Mary Beth St. Clair, of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Jazlynn Jenkins, Dyson Jenkins and Raelyn Rupert; 20 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nancy Jo Watts and husband, Robert, of Kershaw, S.C., and Max Rupert and wife, Angelika, of Lewistown.

He earned a degree in forestry and desired to become a forest ranger.

He was a member of Ferguson Valley Brethren in Christ Church, McVeytown.

Richard was employed at Faulkner Automotive and Guardian Industries. Lastly, he was a crane operator at Joe Krentzman and Son in Lewistown.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to Noon Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown. The funeral service will follow at Noon, with Rev. Kenneth Grove officiating.

Interment will take place at St. Mark’s Community Cemetery, Green Avenue, Lewistown.
