Nina K. Shilling

Nina K. Shilling, 74, of Lewistown, passed away at 7:02 a.m. on Wednesday Feb. 12, 2020 at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 26, 1945 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Goldie (Traxler) Markley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Kitting.

Nina is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth J. Shilling Sr., whom she married in 1965; children, Melissa Shilling, of Pittsburgh, Kenneth Shilling Jr., of Lewistown, and Scott Shilling, and wife, Denice, of Pittsburgh; siblings surviving, Linda Harpster, and husband Larry, of Lewistown, Joseph Markley Jr., and wife, Beverly, of Newton Hamilton, and Samuel Markley, and wife, Ronda, of Lewistown; granddaughters, Madison and Leah Shilling, and their mother, Sheryl Shilling, and many nieces, nephews and good friends that she loved dearly.

Nina was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Lewistown, and for years worked in concession stands at Mitchell Field for football games. In her free time, she enjoyed camping, and spending time with family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 15, 2020, at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. 3rd Street, Lewistown, with Rev. Karen McCachren to officiate. There will be a visitation held at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will be private.

Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
