William L. ‘Bill’ Rhodes
William L. ‘Bill’ Rhodes, 71, of State Route 103 South, McVeytown, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at his home.
Born Sept. 11, 1948, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late L. Cecil and Margaret (Youtzy) Rhodes. His wife, Katherine L. (Folk) Rhodes, whom he married Jan. 21, 1967, survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, Todd W. Rhodes and wife Erin of Lewistown, Derik S. Rhodes and wife Danielle of York; two sisters, Barbara A. Packer and husband Russell of Burnham, Irene L. Ritchey of McVeytown; four grandchildren, Briana, Tristan, Robbie, Cece; niece and nephews, Karen, Doug, Darrell, Marshall, Jim, Bob and their families.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Lester E. Rhodes.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and was employed as a driver for Fullington Bus Co., Yoder Tourways, and the Mifflin County Call-A-Ride service.
Bill was also a talented musician, playing the guitar, bass, mandolin, and steel guitar. He enjoyed performing bluegrass and gospel music at local venues for many years.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
