Margaret ‘Peg’ Hood Reynolds
Margaret “Peg” Hood Reynolds, 89, of Mifflintown, passed away at 9:47 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born on Dec. 20, 1930 in Mifflintown, Juniata County, she was raised by the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon Eicker.
On July 23, 1949, she married her late husband, Blaine A. Reynolds with whom she was blessed to share over 25 years of marriage before his passing on Aug. 25, 1974.
She is survived by her children, Carol Jan Mahlin of McAlisterville, Thomas L. Reynolds and his wife CeCe, of Duncannon, Brenda J. Varner and her husband Rick, of McAlisterville four grandsons, Adam Mahlin and his wife Melissa, Ryan Mahlin, Daniel Reynolds, Nathaniel Varner; and one great-grandson, Wyatt.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Reynolds and a son-in-law, John Mahlin. She was a 1949 graduate of Juniata Joint High School and a lifelong member the Messiah Lutheran Church both of Mifflintown.
In earlier life she was employed for 18 years by Zimmies Restaurant, Mifflintown and she retired from, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Dept. of Revenue, Harrisburg with 12 years of service.
Peg loved reading, traveling, doing word search puzzles, however: her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Vicar Samuel J. Leister officiating.
Interment will follow at the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
A viewing will be held 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020 at the funeral home.
