Thomas D. Weaver

Thomas D. Weaver, 55, of McClure, one of the greatest fly-fisherman to ever step foot in the waters of Penns Creek, is now fishing the stream of Living Waters with his heavenly Father as of Oct. 14, 2019.

Born May 14, 1964, in Lewistown, to William W. Weaver Jr. and the late Peggy Weaver, of McClure, he was the youngest of four children. Tom married Holly (Stuter) Weaver in 1994 and stepped up to the role of helping raise her son, Tyler Rupert.

Tom had a personal relationship with Jesus and was a member of New Life Church.

He not only worked at Philips Ultrasound for over 35 years, but he also made many friends there until his health prevented him from working anymore.

Tom loved to read his Bible, pray for others, hear the squeal of the reel while fly-fishing, climb up the tree for hunting that whitetail buck, fire up the chainsaw to cut wood for heat in the winter months, grow organic vegetables in the garden and spend time with family and friends, laughing and being joyful. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing in softball leagues. He was a loving and caring person, a devoted husband, a very special “Poppy” and a trusted friend to many.

Along with his wife of 25 years, he is survived by: his son, Tyler Rupert, and companion, Kara Hunter, of Reedsville; two grandchildren, Gage and Brin Rupert; his father, William W. Weaver Jr.; his siblings, Peggy Davis and husband, Robert, of Renovo, William M. Weaver and wife, Pam, of McClure, and Jon Weaver and wife, Kelly, of Shunk; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

He was cared for dearly by his aides Heather and Hollie through Angels Among Us.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at New Life Church in Burnham, with Pastor John Walters officiating.

Guests are invited to attend a reception in his honor in the church cafe immediately following the service. Interment will be private at Mount Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.

The Barr Funeral Home and Crematory, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, PA 17044 will be entrusted with the arrangements.

To honor Tom’s request, there will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tom Weaver’s memory may be made to: Winning the Fight Inc. 11706 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL 33612, or ALS Association 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260 Ambler, PA 19002.
