J. Lucille Klingler
J. Lucille Klingler, 99, formerly of McClure, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019 at the Manor at Penn Village in Selinsgrove.
She was born on Jan. 10, 1920 in McClure, a daughter of the late Edward B. and Dora (Snook) Shive. On March 31, 1945 she married James W. Klingler who preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2011.
Lucille was a 1938 graduate of McClure High School.
Earlier in her life she was employed as a secretary for PennDOT and helped with her family’s business working in the office at C.R. Klingler Feed Mill.
Mrs. Klingler was a member of Mt. Bethel Church, in McClure, and enjoyed being a part of the Pollyanna group.
She helped for several years with the election board for Spring Township. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and going on trips to see the fall leaves. She was known for being a spotless baker and always made her nieces and nephews homemade ice cream, butterscotch oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in- law, Rita J. and Melvin Longacre, and Joanne L. Klingler; and her niece and nephews, David Schilling, and wife, Candy, Kyle Schilling, and wife, Gerry, Edward Shive, and wife, Trish, John Klingler, and wife, MariEtta and Barbara Straw, and husband Barry.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Mt. Bethel Church in McClure where the funeral will follow at 11 am.
Burial will follow in McClure Union Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Pheasant Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
