Leroy M. ‘Bud’ Gladfelter Jr.

Leroy M. “Bud” Gladfelter Jr., 71, of 2908 Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, May 21, 2019, at his home.

He was born July 31, 1947, in Brady Township, Huntingdon County, the son of the late Leroy M. Gladfelter Sr. and Harriet (Henry) Gladfelter.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy (Sechrist) Gladfelter on July 29, 1997, in Florida. His wife survives along with the following children: Brian Gladfelter, of Orbisonia, Brandon Gladfelter, of Florida, Wendy Rodriguez and husband, Jose, of Chambersburg; stepchildren: Randy Marker and wife, Melissa, of Thompsontown, Barbara Marker, of Mount Union, Nikki Marker, of Shade Gap; in addition to 10 grandchildren and four step grandchildren and one step great-grandson. A sister and brother survive: Janice Hoover of Huntingdon and Dennis Gladfelter, of Virginia.

He was preceded in death by the following siblings: Bill Gladfelter, Kathy Young and Donnie Gladfelter.

Mr. Gladfelter was a graduate of Huntingdon High School, Class of 1965.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the military police and was a member of the Mapleton American Legion Post.

Mr. Gladfelter worked at New Holland, Belleville, with 36 years of service.

He enjoyed making music CDs for people and, as a hobby, worked as a DJ. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved camping.

He was a member of The Way Bible Church.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Pastor Jerry Wise officiating. Interment will be in theMountainview Cemetery, Mill Creek.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, from noon to 2 p.m.
