We are God’s watchmen


“If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” (Ps 95:7,8)

God is our creator, our savior, our life, our love, our light, our peace, our joy, our strength, our shepherd and our watchman.

God, our watchman, speaks through this COVID-19 pandemic. God has a very important message, through this pandemic, to all living people on this Planet Earth. Each one has to open his/her heart, mind and soul to God, to listen to God’s message and to respond to Him.

God said to Ezekiel, “You, son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for the house of Israel; when you hear a word from my mouth, you must warn them for me.” (Ez 33:7)

The same God has appointed all Christians who have been baptized into Christ as his watchmen for all living people on this Planet Earth.

We, the baptized Christians, have been specially called to imitate the life of Christ.

If we love Christ and live for Christ whom we don’t see, then, we must love our neighbors and live for our neighbors whom we do see. If we love Christ and live for Christ then Christ reminds us through this pandemic that we are the watchmen of all others – whether they are our friends or foes, family members or strangers, Americans or foreigners.

We as Christians can’t neglect our responsibility like Cain the brother of Abel, (Gen 4) or the older son in the parable of the Prodigal Son, (Lk 15) or the teacher of the law who asked Jesus, “Who is my
