Paintersville church to offer free craft night

LEWISTOWN — Paintersville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 3195 Back Maitland Road, Lewistown, will host a free ladies craft day 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Attendees are asked to bring a crafting/hobby supplies and fellowship to work on projects. There will be a time of devotions, lunch and refreshments. Attendees are asked to register at (717) 543-5249 with name, phone number and type of craft.

Coffee House hosts Singing Lions

LEWISTOWN — The Singing Lions from Penn State University will provide entertainment at the Ellen Chapel Church Coffee House at 8:15 p.m. Saturday. Attendees will enjoy the energy the group provides as they share their musical talent.

Unusual Suspects String Band will provide a variety of acoustic music selections including bluegrass, classic folk, gospel, and country beginning at 7 p.m.

Bring family and friends and enjoy the music, a snack, and coffee or iced tea. There is no charge to attend but donations will be accepted.

Schrader UMC to host special speakers

REEDSVILLE — Schrader United Methodist Chuch will host the following speakers during its 8:30 a.m. services:

Reedsville UMC to host free movie night

REEDSVILLE — Reedsville United Methodist Church will host a free movie night at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Refreshments will be served. The film “The Note 2” will be shown.

Church to host Know Mercy Band

LEWISTOWN — An evening of worship wit Know Mercy Band and Friends will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Pine Glen Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 1058 state Route 103 N.

Locust Grove to host Team Kid

BELLEVILLE — Youth in prekindergarten to sixth grade are invited to Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 3358 W. Main St., Belleville, for the spring session of Team Kid.

There will be Bible stories, playing games and eating snack. The group will meet 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 18, March 3 and March 17.

Participants are asked to bring their Bibles and friends as they learn the importance of studying the Bible.

Milroy church to show ‘Overcomer’

MILROY — Journey Church, 283 Broad Street, will host a free movie night at 7 p.m. Feb. 22. Refreshments and child care will be provided. The film âOvercomerã will be shown.

LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County Men’s Lenten Breakfasts, sponsored by the Methodist Men of Mifflin County, will be held at 7:30 a.m. each Saturday during the Lenten season on the following dates and locations:

Stony Run to host

Revival services

McALISTERVILLE — Stony Run Mission, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville, will host Revival with Dale Vance Feb. 23 to 26. Vance will share in word and song. Sunday services will be held at 9:15 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Windy Hill to host hymn sing

BURNHAM — Windy Hill Bible Church in Burnham, across from the Super 8 Motel, will host its monthly hymn sing 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 23 with fellowship and snacks to follow. All are welcome.

Ministerium hosts Lenten series

McALISTERVILLE — The McAlisterville Ministerium will host the 2020 Lenten Series, “Clashing Attitudes: a Study on the Beatitudes.” The series will begin at 7 p.m. on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 26, when Graham Fowler introduces the series with the topic of Poor in Spirit. The service will be at East Salem United Methodist Church, and will include the service of the ashes and the sacrament of Holy Communion.

The following services will also be held at 7 p.m.:

¯March 1 — Jen Heikes will speak at Delaware Mennonite on Mourning.

¯March 8 — Keith Graybill will speak at Brown United Methodist Church on Meekness.

¯March 15 — Terry Smith will speak at Otterbein United Methodist Church on Righteousness.

¯March 22 — Kevin Brophy will speak at Lost Creek Mennonite Church.

¯March 29 — Erin Bovendam will speak at Lost Creek Presbyterian on Pure in Heart.

¯April 5 — Dave Gingrich will speak at McAlisterville United Methodist Church about Peacemakers.

¯April 10 — Dave McElwee will speak at Free Spring Church of the Brethren on the Persecuted.

This year the offerings collected will be divided between a local and a world mission. The local mission is Juniata County Golden Years Ministry. This supports Gary Krabill who serves as a chaplain to residents in our county nursing homes who do not have a pastor/church connection. The other half will go through denominational ministries helping Puerto Rico recover from hurricane and earth quake damage. Checks can be made out to the McAlisterville Ministerium.

Brethren church to screen ‘Overcomer’

McALISTERVILLE — Bunkertown Brethren Church, 52 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville, will show the family-friendly movie, “Overcomer” at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 in the church’s Family Life Center. Light refreshments will be served. For information, call (717) 463-3572.

Port Royal to host Lenten Pray Breakfast

PORT ROYAL — Port Royal Men’s Lenten Breakfast will beet at 7 a.m. each Saturday in the Port Royal Community Building on 4th Street, Port Royal. The speakers will be as follows:
