Ellen Chapel to host coffee house

LEWISTOWN — The November Coffee House at Ellen Chapel Church will be held Saturday with Al and Jean Lumpkin providing guitar and vocal music at 7 p.m. Beginning at 8:15, Mark Hill will provide the entertainment.

At a coffee house, guests are invited to have a cup of coffee or iced tea while enjoying music. A light snack will be provided at intermission along with a second cup of coffee or iced tea. There is no charge to attend but donations will be accepted.

Milroy UMC to host bake sale

MILROY — Milroy United Methodist Church, 91 S. Main St., Milroy, will host a yard and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 9.

Bunkertown church to host concert

McALISTERVILLE — Gold City will perform at Bunkertown Church at 7 p.m. Saturday. A free will offering will be taken the night o. the concert. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Schrader UMC to host special speaker

Annual ministry

concert held

McALISTERVILLE — Jeremy Goodling hosting his annual ministry concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at Bunkertown Brethren Church near McAlisterville. Goodling, who has been singing gospel music throughout Central Pennsylvania for nearly 30 years, will be joined by his daughters, The Goodling Girls and Carlisle gospel singer Randy Simpson. Thankoffering

service held Nov. 10

MIFFLINTOWN — Messiah Lutheran of Mifflintown will hold its annual Thankoffering service on Nov. 10, with the Rev. Erin Bovendam as a guest speaker. A congregational meal with follow in the fellowship hall. Bring a covered dish if you are able. The congregation is also asked to bring items for the food pantry between now and the service. A $20 donation will purchase one complete meal for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Reedsville UMC to host movie night

REEDSVILLE –Reedsville United Methodist Church will hold a free movie night at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

The film shown will be “A Box of Faith.” After her mother dies and her dad is imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit, 16-year-old Dior is forced to live on the streets. Ward, a social worker, makes it her personal mission to find the evading youth but everywhere she looks, Dior is always a step ahead. Through their cat-and-mouse game, they unexpectedly teach each other the meaning of love and acceptance. Dior believes that her antique writing box, left behind by her mother, grants her whatever she needs to survive on her own through a mystical connection with God.

First Baptist to host conference

MIFFLINTOWN — First Baptist of Mifflintown, state Route 35, on mile north of Mifflintown, will host a Creation Conference with Mike Snavely Nov. 16 and 17.

On at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, a seminar, “Grand Canyon, The Puzzle on the Plateau” will be held. Nursery care will be provided.

At 8 and 10:30 a.m., a seminar, “God’s Way or Man’s Way?” will be provided.

At 9:15 a.m., a combined teen and adult seminar, “Mission Imperative Ministry Update and Question and Answer” will be provided.

At 7 p.m., “The Serpent,” will be provided. Nursery care will be available during this time.

Mike Snavely was reared in rural South Africa, the son of missionaries. After graduating from college in Minnesota in 1979, he returned to South Africa to work for the National Parks Service. Following this, he began a career as an African wildlife artist. In 1985 he married Carrie Baum who grew up near Hershey. In 1986 they returned to South Africa and taught at Durban Bible College. Since returning to the United States, they’ve developed the ministry Mission: Imperative! teaching creation subjects in seminar format, using nature and wildlife as a basis.

Ministerium to host Gospel concert

MOUNT UNION ä Pastor Adam Shawver in conjunction with the Mount Union Ministerium will host a Gospel/Christian music concert at 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at Solid Rock Church Wellness Center, North Jefferson and West Walnut streets, Mount Union.

Special music will be provided by Paul Zook and friends. The event is open to the public at no charge. A free will offering will be accepted. Home made ice cream, pies, hot dogs, cookies and other refreshments will be served.

at Bannerville CMA

McCLURE — Jeremy Goodling will perform at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 17 at Bannerville Christian and Missionary Alliance.

Women’s group to meet at Lost Creek

MIFFLINTOWN — LIFT, Ladies in Fellowship Together, will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 20 at Lost Creek Mennonite Church for a workshop on Gift on the Magi & diffuser bracelet. Attendees will join Wendy Kerstetter in learning about the Gifts of the Magi that were given to Jesus as a baby. The group will make an essential oil diffuser bracelet to take home and also give one to our LIFT childcare workers. A $10 fee will help cover expenses for the event.

First Baptist to host patriotic service

MIFFLINTOWN — The First Baptist Church of Juniata County, 1 mile North of Mifflintown on Route 35, will hold its annual patriotic service honoring Military at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10.

Special guest speaker is Chaplain (Maj.) Jonathan W. Anderson, who is currently serving as the Group Command Chaplain for the 902nd Military Intelligence Group in Fort George G. Meade, MD.

Veterans will be honored.

Holiday teas held in Port Royal

PORT ROYAL — The annual Port Royal Community Holiday Teas will be held in the social room of the Port Royal Lutheran Church. The Thanksgiving Tea will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 21 and will include a short devotional, special music and fellowship for busy women preparing for the holiday season.

The Christmas Tea will be celebrated on Dec. 12 and will also include a Christmas Musicale performed by a Brass Ensemble from Juniata High School.

International gift sale come to Mifflintown

MIFFLINTOWN — Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, Mifflintown, will host the 25th annual Fair Trade Gift Sale 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 21 and 22 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 23. A bake sale will be held Friday and Saturday to help defray cost to ship items.

Windy Hill hosts hymn sing

BURNHAM — Windy Hill Bible Church in Burnham will host its monthly hymn sing from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 24 with fellowship and snacks to follow.

Goodling to perform in McAlisterville

McALISTERVILE — Jeremy Goodling will perform at Stony Run Mission Church at 6 p.m., Dec. 1, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville.

McCoysville tea slated Dec. 7

McCOYSVILLE — McCoysville Presbyterian Church will hold its annual Christmas Tea at 1 p.m. Dec. 7.

This year’s tea will feature Jodi Strawser, of McAlisterville, who will be showing wedding dresses and inviting attendees to see them as symbols of our own lives in Christ. The Women of the Church will be serving a variety of teas and desserts. This event is free and open to the public.

Professional counselor from Hope in the Journey Counseling Center, Diane Raudensky, will share with us Christ-centered guidance on relationships.
