Turkey dinner to

Men’s chorus to
LEWISTOWN — The Bunkertown Men’s Chorus will present a program at the Mattawana Mennonite Church at 7 p.m. Sunday.
The performance will be its last worship for its 85th anniversary year.
A variety of a cappella selections including familiar standards of four-part harmony along with lesser-known melodies will be performed. Additionally, four of the men will lead hymns as a brass quartet.

MIFFLINTOWN — Messiah Lutheran of Mifflintown will hold its annual Thankoffering service on Nov. 10, with the Rev. Erin Bovendam as a guest speaker. A congregational meal with follow in the fellowship hall. Bring a covered dish if you are able. The congregation is also asked to bring items for the food pantry between now and the service. A $20 donation will purchase one complete meal for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Mike Snavely was reared in rural South Africa, the son of missionaries. After graduating from college in Minnesota in 1979, he returned to South Africa to work for the National Parks Service. Following this, he began a career as an African wildlife artist. In 1985 he married Carrie Baum who grew up near Hershey. In 1986 they returned to South Africa and taught at Durban Bible College. Since returning to the United States, they’ve developed the ministry Mission: Imperative! teaching creation subjects in seminar format, using nature and wildlife as a basis.

Women’s group to meet at Lost Creek
MIFFLINTOWN — LIFT, Ladies in Fellowship Together, will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 20 at Lost Creek Mennonite Church for a workshop on Gift on the Magi and diffuser bracelet. Attendees will join Wendy Kerstetter in learning about the Gifts of the Magi that were given to Jesus as a baby. We will be making a beautiful essential oil diffuser bracelet to take home and also give one to our LIFT childcare workers. A $10 fee will help cover expenses for the event.

MIFFLINTOWN — The First Baptist Church of Juniata County, 1 mile North of Mifflintown on Route 35, will hold its annual patriotic service honoring Military at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10.
Special guest speaker is Chaplain (Maj.) Jonathan W. Anderson, who is currently serving as the Group Command Chaplain for the 902nd Military Intelligence Group in Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

PORT ROYAL — The annual Port Royal Community Holiday Teas will be held in the social room of the Port Royal Lutheran Church. The Thanksgiving Tea will be at 10 a.m. Nov.21 and will include a short devotional, special music and fellowship for busy women preparing for the holiday season.
The Christmas Tea will be celebrated on Dec. 12 and will also include a Christmas Musicale performed by a Brass Ensemble from Juniata High School.
