Route 45 resurfacing work starts Tuesday

CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced a resurfacing project on a section of Route 45 in Centre County will begin Tuesday. According to PennDOT, the project will improve roadway safety and ride quality. Contractors will begin milling operations on Route 45 between Penn’s Cave Road in Gregg Township and South Street in Millheim Borough. Flaggers will provide traffic control during daylight hours. Coroner releases additional details in newborn death case

McVEYTOWN — The Mifflin County Coroner’s Office on Friday released additional details regarding the death investigation involving a newborn infant discovered earlier this month near Mount Hope Road in Wayne Township. According to Coroner Andre L. Alcalde, the coroner’s office was dispatched around 6 p.m. May 15 following the discovery of a deceased newborn found face down along an embankment in McVeytown.
