REEDSVILLE — The Juniata River Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Education Committee recently hosted its annual Free Wheeling event at the Mifflin County Youth Park Thursday, offering Mifflin County fourth grade students a hands-on introduction to career opportunities through an engaging vehicle display.
This event was designed to inspire students by showcasing vehicles that represent a wide range of professions — from law enforcement and banking to agriculture and recreation. A total of 11 local businesses and organizations participated, providing students with the unique chance to interact with professionals and learn how different vehicles are used in various careers.
“Free Wheeling opens the door for young students to start thinking about the many paths their futures can take,” said Cher Harpster, committee chair. “It’s about sparking curiosity and helping them see the connections between education and exciting career possibilities right here in our region, said Rhonda Kelley, Chamber Executive Director.”
