Area man faces drug, theft charges
LEWISTOWN — Trenton M. Sheaffer, 25, address unknown, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and retail theft after an incident at Sheetz, 113 N. Juniata St. in Lewistown, at 10:47 p.m. on April 6. Sheaffer had a felony warrant out of Huntingdon County for failure to appear relating to a criminal trespass arrest, the report said, and was taken into custody without incident. During a search, Sheaffer was found to be in possession of hypodermic needles and drug paraphernalia that contained methamphetamine residue, the report said. Also, while searching Sheaffer, he was found to have food items concealed that he stole from the store, the report said.
Burnham man charged with intent to deliver drugs
BURNHAM — Officers from the Lewistown Police Department, Mifflin County Regional Police Department and Mifflin County Drug Task Force assisted the FBI in conducting a search warrant at a residence on Eighth Avenue in Burnham at 6 p.m. on April 10, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. The warrant was issued after several controlled purchases of narcotics were previously made from the residence, the report said. As a result of the search, a quantity of cocaine and fentanyl were recovered from inside the residence in addition to a handgun that had the serial number obliterated, the report said. The possessor of the firearm, Kyle Ross Reish, 29, of Burnham, was statutorily prohibited from possessing firearms and was charged by the Mifflin County Drug Task Force as a result of this search warrant for possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, possession with intent to deliver drugs, and persons not to possess firearms, the report said.
Lewistown woman charged with DUI during burglary investigation
LEWISTOWN — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown troopers were investigating a burglary at 170 Kearns Road in Decatur Township at 1:30 p.m. on April 10 and found Michele Royer, 57, of Lewistown, to be driving under the influence, according to a public information release report issued on Saturday. Royer was subsequently charged through Magisterial District Court Judge Jackie Leister, the report said. A 2004 black Mercury Mariner was also involved, the report said.
Lewistown man charged with vandalism at jail
LEWISTOWN — A 51-year-old Lewistown man was charged with institutional vandalism after police said he broke a sprinkler head and caused his cell to flood with water at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility at 5:58 p.m. on April 9. According to a police report issued Friday, officers reviewed surveillance footage and saw Brian A. Decker Sr. climb up to a sprinkler head and tied a blanket around it, the report said. It broke when he pulled down on it, the report said.
