From staff reports

LEWISTOWN — The Juniata Valley Home and Garden Show will take place on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 at the Mifflin County Youth Park building in Reedsville. This will mark the event’s 11th year.

The show will include more than 40 local exhibitor spaces, special presentations, door prizes and food vendors. The home and garden show will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $2, and youth 16 and under are admitted free. Parking at the event is free. The event will feature a plant and flower sale, a chicken barbecue fundraiser and a kids’ playhouse giveaway on Saturday. Door prizes are drawn throughout the two days. In the event of cooler weather, blast heaters will warm the building.

Nationally-known antiques and collectibles appraiser Dr. Lori will return to the event, once again on the Friday afternoon of the show in the back of the Youth Park building. Dr. Lori’s session on March 28 will take place at 2:30 p.m. and she will conduct a limited number of free appraisals during her show. Attendees may bring one item to have appraised for free during the session on a first-come, first-serve basis. Show organizers will begin processing appraisal reservations at noon Friday and it should be noted that appraisals are limited and the reservations often go quickly.

Dr. Lori is the star antiques appraiser on the History channel’s The Curse of Oak Island and Pawn Stars Do America, Discovery channel’s Auction Kings and Netflix’s King of Collectibles.

Saturday is Family Day at the Home Show, with free face painting for children and a kids’ playhouse giveaway from Mountain Road Structures. Exhibitors at the event will include landscapers, remodelers, pool companies, roofers and window vendors. Food vendors will be on site. Exhibitor spaces are still available and interested businesses can contact The Sentinel at (717) 248-6741, ext. 128 for details.

Starting at $2.99/week.
