Calendar

The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.

Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

• Free Garden to Table workshop — 6 to 7 p.m., March 11, Body and Soul Community Center, Strodes Mills. Leah Fronk, horticulture specialist from Penn State Extension, will do a presentation on microgreens. Bring your extra seeds for garden seed sharing time. •Benefit auction — 8:30 a.m., LUMINA Center, Lewistown. All proceeds benefit the support of free LUMINA Center programming for at-risk children and youth.

•LGHS Class of 1965 luncheon — 11 a.m., Sal-lee’s Dream.

•Turkey supper — 4 to 6 p.m., Church Hill United Methodist Church, 199 Woodland Circle, Reedsville. Cost is by donation. Both eat-in and take-out are available.

Sunday

•Free movie night –6:30 p.m., Reedsville United Methodist Church, 82 E. Logan St. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome. The movie is “Have a Little Faith.”

Monday

• Bingo — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., McVeytown Senior Center.

• Job Club — 10 a.m. to noon, Mifflin County CareerLink, MCIDC Plaza building 58. Attendees can search for jobs, tailor resumes, apply for jobs and learn how to get jobs.

•Bingo — Doors open 5 p.m. Early bird games 6:30 p.m., Milroy Hose Co. $25 package includes up to 15 cards and early bird games. Rip tickets available. Jackpot guaranteed $1,000. Kitchen will be open. Benefits Easter egg hunt. Sponsored by Siglerville Ball Organization, Milroy Hose Co. and Milroy American Legion Post 287 Auxiliary.
