Burnham man jailed on child porn charges
From staff reports
BURNHAM — A 27-year-old man is behind bars after a state investigation tied him to possession of child pornography.
Donald Gary Roush III, of Burnham, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Kent Smith Wednesday on nine counts of possession of sexually abusive material involving children, second degree felonies; and one count of criminal use of a communication device.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a complaint involving a cell phone that was traced back to Roush in June 2024.
The report states Roush viewed a file containing a photo of a toddler engaging in sexual acts with an adult man.
By obtaining driver’s license information, officers were able to track down Roush’ Burnham address on Sixth Avenue.
Officers were able to obtain a search warrant to view content on Roush’ cell phone, which retrieved nine files depicting child sexual abuse of a person less than 10 years of age.
Police obtained a search warrant for the Roush’ residence. During a police interview, Roush stated he had been looking at child pornography for about seven years, but did not recall the website where he found it.
Roush is being held in Mifflin County Correctional Facility, unable to post $250,000 bail. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing set for
9 a.m. Wednesday.
