Owls Club to host band bash Feb. 14

Proceeds for local cancer patient

LEWISTOWN — Enjoy some good music for a good cause.

The Owls Club Association, located at 113 W. Water St., Lewistown, is hosting a band bash benefit Friday, Feb. 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. Members and non-members can enjoy a night of music and 50/50 raffles to help a patron and dear friend of the club who is currently battling cancer. The funds raised will go to her expenses.

“My sister has had cancer three times and has been in remission for over ten years, but due to the radiation, she is in need of a lung transplant,” Jennifer Sunday said.

She first has to go to Pittsburgh to receive testing and be added to the list. From there they wait. Once she receives the transplant she will have to live in Pittsburgh for three months. Between travel, food, bills at home and bills during her stay in Pittsburgh will add up quickly.

“The Owls club is known for helping their patrons and their community by doing similar benefits such as this one as well as participating in Toys for Tots at christmas time”, says Kea Peck, server.

Performers and bands will be kicking off starting at 7 p.m. with a line up sure to rock the house.

Ronny Henry will play original music. Performer Mike Soxy plays emo punk covers. Doug Snook performs 80s and up rock covers. The band Hillbilly Diesel plays 80s party dance music and the band Cranked Up performs 80s and up rock covers.

All bands’ websites are on Facebook.

Starting at $2.99/week.
