Mifflin Co Academy spaghetti dinner benefits fire victims
LEWISTOWN — A delicious spaghetti dinner prepared by the culinary students at the Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology will be available on Friday.
For a minimum donation of $10 you can get spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, bread and dessert. Proceeds benefit the fire victims from the blaze that displaced 10 families on Juniata Terrace in January.
A drive-thru pick-up option will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. A dine-in option will take place from 4 to 7 p.m.
“Sunday morning, our staff group chat was going off discussing ways we could help”, says Jennifer Dressler, Career Coach at the Academy. “We found out a former custodian as well as a student in the academy were victims.”
Dressler says they moved quickly Monday morning to come up with the idea to hold a benefit dinner.
“Travis McCullough, the culinary instructor and his students were immediately on board”, says Dressler.
The students will be preparing the meal and all of the staff will be on duty helping things run smoothly.
You do not need to call to reserve, just show up between the designated times, follow the signs and enjoy a dinner you didn’t have to make and help a good cause.
