Calendar
The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.
Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

• Mifflin County Chapter PASR luncheon meeting — noon, March 6, Birch Hill Event Center, Burnham. Beth Myers will present a musical program. • Benefit auction — 8:30 a.m., Saturday, March 8, LUMINA Center, 18 E. Third St., Lewistown. Proceeds support free LUMINA Center programming for at-risk children and youth. The center is soliciting new and used items of value. Call the LUMINA Center with items to be donated at (717) 242-2888 or (717) 247-8430 or email luminacenter18@gmail.com by March 3. Smaller items may be dropped off at the LUMINA Center. Larger items can be picked up by LUMINA personnel by prior arrangement with the center. No donations will be received after noon March 5 unless prior arrangements have been made.
• Free Garden to Table workshop — 6 to 7 p.m., March 11, Body and Soul Community Center, Strodes Mills. Leah Fronk, horticulture specialist from Penn State Extension, will do a presentation on microgreens. Bring your extra seeds for garden seed sharing time. •Free lunch — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., First Baptist Church Family Ministry Center, Rte. 35, one mile north of Mifflintown. Menu: Cheeseburger soup, toasted cheese sandwich, fruit and dessert. Everyone is welcome.

•Graceful Soles Shoe Bank — 9 a.m. to noon, Grace United Methodist Church, 101 Logan St., Lewistown. Children up to age 18 are given a free pair of shoes with verification of low income through medical assistance. Parent or guardian must accompany child.
•Cornhole tournament and raffle auction — 10 a.m., Midd-West Middle School, 10 Dock Hill Rd., Middleburg. Bags fly at 11 a.m. with a $50 team charge. Auction drawing at 3 p.m. with prize pickup from 4 to 6 p.m. Concessions available all day. Proceeds benefit the Midd-West Quarterback Club.
•McClure pool fundraiser – noon to 7 p.m., McClure American Legion Social Room. Chinese auction noon-4:30 p.m. with drawings immediately to follow. Basket auction begins at 7 p.m. Proceeds benefit the pool.
