Two hospitalized following early Thursday crash
LEWISTOWN — Two drivers are believed to have broken bones as a result of a vehicle crash that occurred at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday in Oliver Township.
Pennsylvania State Police in Lewistown said the crash occurred when a 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by 75-year-old Harvey Weaver, of McVeytown pulled out in front of a 2009 Toyota Matrix driven by 21-year-old Ineshya Gumby, of Lewistown, who was coming from Jacks Mountain Road.
Police said Gumby did not have enough time to react and struck Weaver’s vehicle, causing the Mitsubishi to spin and strike the Toyota a second time, then travel across both lanes of U.S. 22/522.
Both drivers were transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Police said Weaver was cited for the crash.
