STATE COLLEGE — Mount Nittany Health announced the arrival of its first baby of the New Year. Thursday morning a baby boy was born to proud parents Kristen and Dakoda Smeltz of Lewistown, Pa.

Mount Nittany Health always celebrates the birth of the New Year’s Baby. In a press release, the medical center said its employees are honored to be part of such a joyful moment for this family and our community. Congratulations to the Smeltz family!

According to a press release, the Women and Children’s Services Unit at Mount Nittany Medical Center offers care to families during one of life’s most precious milestones. The unit provides a warm, family-centered environment, offering private labor and delivery suites with advanced technology to ensure safety and comfort. Experienced physicians, nurses, and support staff are dedicated to providing personalized care for mothers, babies, and families.
