STATE COLLEGE — Mount Nittany Health announced the arrival of its first baby of the New Year. Thursday morning a baby boy was born to proud parents Kristen and Dakoda Smeltz of Lewistown, Pa.

Mount Nittany Health always celebrates the birth of the New Year’s Baby. In a press release, the medical center said its employees are honored to be part of such a joyful moment for this family and our community. Congratulations to the Smeltz family!

According to a press release, the Women and Children’s Services Unit at Mount Nittany Medical Center offers care to families during one of life’s most precious milestones.
