Derry Township officials reorganize

Township employees receive wage increase

LEWISTOWN — Derry Township Supervisors reorganized and discussed a wage increase for township employees at their Monday meeting.

Ronald Napikoski Jr was unanimously reelected as chairman and Donald Warntz II as vice chairman. Officials also appointed John Sipe as the township’s assistant secretary and treasurer.

Officials then selected Justin Allen to continue as roadmaster and Chris Dobson as zoning officer.

Officials appointed Donald Warntz to the FAME EMS Board of Directors for a two-year term and appointed Ronald Napikoski and John Sipe to the Mifflin County Regional Police Board of Directors.

Michael Mowery was reappointed to the Derry Township Zoning Hearing Board for a three-year term.

Officials approved having their Board of Supervisors meetings on the first and third Monday of each month with the exception of the first Monday and the third Tuesday in February. Also, September and December meetings will be held on the first Tuesday and the third Monday of those months. Meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. at the Derry Township Municipal Building, located at 73 Reserve Lane, Lewistown.

Supervisors added that all Derry Township employees except for seasonal mini golf employees will receive a 4 percent wage increase for the 2025 season.

Officials approved that any employee attending schooling authorized by the Board for one day may be paid a registration expense of $20 as well as $.70 per mile for one round trip.

Road and Park department full-time employees will receive a $250 clothing allowance.

Employees celebrating five, 10, 15, 20, 25, etc. years of service will receive an additional 2 percent wage increase.

Comp time policy, vacation time, sick days policy, and holiday policies were also approved during this meeting.
