Celebrate holiday with Santa

With all the breakfasts, lunches and milk and cookies that Santa Claus has to take in this weekend, it’s no wonder his little round belly shakes when he laughs, like a bowl full of jelly.

Calories, calories, calories. At any rate, he’s a busy man. Check out these things to do this weekend:

Sitdowns with Santa

• Breakfast with Santa, 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Elks Lodge, 229 W. Third St., Lewistown. Breakfast menu will be available for purchase. There will be photos with Santa. Bring a gift for Santa to share with your child. To reserve a table, call (717) 248-8212. Walk-ins welcome.

• Breakfast with the Grinch, 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Granville Fire Co., 105 Malta Drive, Granville. Enjoy pancakes with the famous holiday character. Cost is $5 for ages 10 and up and free for ages 9 and under.

‘Quiet Christmas’ benefits a Bible fund established in the memory of the late Theil and Andrea Kauffman.

• Santa at Burnham Fire Co., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Burnham Fire Co., 205 N. Beech St., Burnham. He’ll be taking a trip around Burnham Borough on the fire truck before coming back to the firehouse for a visit. So, kids get your lists ready and make sure you haven’t been naughty.

• Breakfast with Santa, 10 a.m. Saturday, Hungry Run Wine Bar and Bistro, 11042 Route 522 South, Lewistown. Breakfast and photo session with Santa, along with Grace Fala singing interactive Christmas songs with kids. Reservations required.

• Lunch with Santa, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, City Hook and Ladder, 317 Valley St., Lewistown. Chow down and meet the big man in red.

• Cookies with Santa, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, McVeytown OIP, 1 E. John St., McVeytown. Kids can enjoy milk and cookies with Santa Claus.

‘Quiet Christmas’ benefit scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday

“Quiet Christmas,” an evening of Christmas music by local musicians has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Third St., Lewistown. Proceeds benefit the Theil and Andrea Kauffman Memorial Bible Fund, in the memory of the former Friendship Bookstore owners who cared deeply about spreading the word of the Lord through The Bible. The fund continues their mission of placing Bibles in the hands of community members. For information, email TAKbiblefund@gmail.com.

For the holidays

• Light Up Little Buffalo, 6 to 9 p.m. through Monday, Little Buffalo State Park, 1579 Park Road, Newport. Explore the wonderful winter woodlands, lit up with lights for the holiday season and decorated with familiar holiday faces. Stop by to talk with Santa about his naughty and nice list and grab some cookies and hot chocolate sold by the 4-H Club. The On-Stage Schedule is as follows: Newport SD Ensembles tonight; West Perry “Mustang Chorale” on Friday; and Greenwood “Out of the Blue” Swing Choir on Saturday. • Silent Fright: A Krampus Christmas Story, 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Hidden Screams Haunted Attraction, 19 S. Brown St., Lewistown. Bring a new blanket for Families United Network and admission is only $7.

• Ugly Sweater Party, 9 p.m. Saturday, Oriental Hotel, 3095 Turkey Valley Road, Oriental. Music by DJ Hillbilly Deluxe.

Live Nativity at Middlecreek Farms

• Experience the “King in the Cradle” at this year’s Live Nativity at Middlecreek Farms, 134 Farmhaus Road, just west of Middleburg, from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight and Friday and 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
