MIFFLINTOWN — The Juniata Elementary School hosted a toy drive to donate to the Wings of Kindness organization. Wings of Kindness President Ted Pennebaker picked up the toys Friday morning.

In 2002 after a terrible tragedy took the lives of Mark, Marcy, Elena and Amanda Pennebaker, the Wings of Kindness Foundation was established.

Ted Pennebaker, the father and grandfather to the family, and his wife turned tragedy into beauty. The donations they had received after losing their family, sparked the beginning of something truly magnificent.

Wings of Kindness is a non-profit organization that works to “provide spiritual, economic, and educational opportunities for deserving youth” and “provide financial assistance to children and organizations that assist in meeting the needs of young people” in the Juniata River Valley.

Ted Pennebaker said he and the entire Wings of Kindness Foundation are extremely thankful for all the donations they received and would like to give a special thank you to Juniata Elementary School for all the toys that were donated in the toy drive.
