Mifflin County Library to hold

GivingTuesday on Dec. 3

LEWISTOWN — While the Mifflin County Library continues to undergo renovations, it is holding GivingTuesday on Dec. 3 as a fundraiser for purchasing children’s books and New York Best Sellers for adults at both the Lewistown and Kish branches. GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, which organizations like the library are holding to transform their communities. Donations can be made by visiting vwww.mifflincountylibrary.org and clicking the link for GivingTuesday. Checks can also be mailed to Mifflin County Library, 123 N. Wayne St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Police agencies issue

holiday driving reminders

With the holiday season approaching, area law enforcement agencies want to remind everyone to enjoy the holidays responsibly. The Mifflin County DUI Task Force has teamed up with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), National Highway Safety Administration and the Pennsylvania DUI Association in an effort to reduce impaired driving. Officers from the Granville Police Department, Mifflin County Regional Police Department, Lewistown Police Department and Armagh Township Police Department will be patrolling looking for impaired, unbelted and aggressive drivers through the end of the year.
