Editor’s note: Juniata County’s election results were unavailable as of press time on Election Day due to human error. These results reflect how Juniata County voted in Tuesday’s primary election, according to unofficial data.
MIFFLINTOWN — Former President Donald J. Trump and current President Joseph R. Biden Jr. were the top vote getters in Juniata County’s unofficial primary election results.
On the Republican side, former president Donald J. Trump received 2,606 of 3,047 total votes in Juniata County, while opponent Nikki R. Haley took 400.
President Joseph R. Biden Jr. took 687 of 879 total votes on the Democratic side while his opponent, Dean Phillips, took 122.
U.S. Senate
On the Republican side, Dave McCormick took 2,872 of 2,900 total Juniata County votes. McCormick ran unchallenged for the Republican seat. McCormick served as Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs during the George W. Bush administration.
The senior United States senator from Pennsylvania, Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Casey Jr. picked up 836 of 851 total votes Tuesday, according to Juniata County’s unofficial election results. Casey — who has held his seat since 2007 — rolled through Tuesday’s primary election unchallenged for the Democratic seat. If successful, this would mark his fourth term in the Senate.
Attorney General
On the Republican side, Dave Sunday was the top vote getter in Juniata County. Sunday received 2,022 of 2,829 votes while opponent Craig Williams received 799.
Juniata County voters chose Eugene Depasquale as their top pick on the Democratic side in the race for attorney general. Depasquale received 436 out of 845 total votes. Opponent Joe Khan received 141 votes, Jared Solomon received 110, Jack Stollsteimer received 100 and Keir Bradford-Grey received 53 votes.
Auditor General
Unopposed Republican Tim Defoor received 2,776 of 2,788 total votes in Juniata County.
In the race for auditor general, Mark Pinsley was the top vote getter on the Democratic side. Pinsley received 472 of 810 total votes. Opponent Malcom Kenyatta received 333 votes.
State Treasurer
On the Republican side, Stacy Garrity ran unopposed, receiving was ran unopposed, receiving 2,754 of 2,763 total votes.
Erin McClelland was the top vote getter on the Democratic side in the race for state treasurer in Juniata County’s unofficial election results. McLelland received 452 of 833 total votes. Opponent Ryan Bizzarro received 372 votes.
13th Congressional District
Unopposed Republican candidate John Joyce received 2,773 of 2,782 total votes in Juniata County’s unofficial election results.
Democratic candidate Beth Farnham –who also ran unopposed — received 791 of 803 total votes in Juniata County.
Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District unites Juniata, Mifflin, Huntingdon and Perry Counties with Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford, Cambria, Blair and the western edge of Cumberland County and the northwest corner of Somerset County.
85th Congressional District
Republican candidate David H. Rowe received 660 of 662 total votes in Juniata County, results state.
Democrat Nick Jacobson ran unopposed on the Democratic ticket, receiving 144 of 146 total votes.
Both candidates for the 85th Congressional District ran unopposed.
86th Congressional District
Unchallenged, Republican Perry Stambaugh will return to the Pennsylvania House of Representative this fall, representing District 86.
In Juniata County, Stambaugh received 2,115 of 2,180 votes.
There was no Democratic opponent for the 86th Congressional District in Juniata County.
The 86th District encompasses parts of Juniata County, including Mifflintown, Mifflin, Port Royal and Thompsontown boroughs and Beale, Delaware, Fermanagh, Greenwood, Lack, Milford, Spruce Hill, Susquehanna, Turbett, Tuscarora and Walker townships; and all of Perry County.
Delegates
Republicans Bill Ward Jr, Juanita Byler and C. Arnold McClure were the top three vote getters with 1,303, 1,120 and 1,113 votes. Falling short in their bids were candidates Erich Hawbaker (1,018 votes), Jim Foreman (989), Steven Carowick Jr (594) and Jim Vasilko (424).
On the Democratic side, there were only two candidates for three spots.Lisa Kramer was the top vote getter, with 1,208 total votes. Opponent Matthew Gribler received 488 votes.
