‘The Frozen Spoon’ opens
Ice cream shop comes to Milroy
MILROY — Lisa and son Ethan Watson have always wanted a local ice cream shop. Husband and father, Steve made that dream come true.
In March 2021, Watson acquired his LLC and shortly afterward, in February 2021 he acquired the location at 3 Electric Ave in Milroy. The Frozen Spoon, which opened, after a year of construction, on Saturday, April 23, is directly across from the baseball fields on “Old 322.”
“We have three employees, and I want to stress how much support our family has provided and continues to provide.” Watson said, “We are experiencing a ton of local support as well.”
With 16 flavors of hard scooped Hershey’s ice cream, waffle cones, dishes, milkshakes, sundaes and splits, The Frozen Spoon aims to refresh the local community and spread joy among the youth. Watson is producing hoagies and hot dogs as well and is currently feeling out the hot sausage market.
The shop has take out available, and The Frozen Spoon facilitated outdoor seating and outdoor games such as Corn Hole and a scaled up version of Connect Four for customers, especially the youth, to enjoy.
The Frozen Spoon opens Wednesday and Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. through 8 p.m., but summer hours may change.
In the future The Frozen Spoon plans to expand the menu and expand the outdoor deck to provide further seating arrangements.
