Calendar

The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.

Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

•Chair volleyball and ice cream social — 9-11:30 a.m. at Lack-Tuscarora EMS building, 9320 Route 75 South, East Waterford. For ages 55 and older. ElderShare Food Box sign ups follow from noon-3 p.m.

•Special needs clinic benefit auction — 8:30 a.m. at Belleville Livestock Auction. Donations accepted May 19-21. Proceeds benefit Central PA Clinic, a medical home for special children and adults. •Lewistown High School Class of 1958 breakfast — 9 a.m., Michele’s, Reedsville. Spouses and friends invited.

•Drive-thru spaghetti dinner — 4 p.m. at Beaver Lutheran Church, U.S. 522 between Beavertown and Beaver Springs, to benefit Helping Hands, Helping Others Inc., which distributes food items free of charge to more than 100 families on a monthly basis through provisions received from Blessings of Hope.

•Spaghetti dinner — Serving time is 4-6:30 p.m. at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Belleville. This fundraiser is for Evan Yoder who is a quadriplegic and member of our church who is in need of a new wheelchair accessible van. Proceeds benefit Evan. Take-outs are available. •’The Chosen’ movie — 6:30 p.m, Maple Grove Mennonite Church. See the dramatization of life of the disciples and walk with Jesus. Refreshments provided.

•Juniata County Dairy Promotion pageant — 1:30 p.m. at Walker Grange Hall, 6611 William Penn Hwy, Mexico, Pa. 1:30 p.m. Ice cream sundaes will be served following the program.

•Snyder County Historical Society program — 2 p.m. Presenter Cindy Inkrote discusses “Grandma’s herbs and home remedies.” The museum is at 30 E. Market St, Middleburg.

Upcoming reunions, including missing classmate requests, are published as part of the calendar. Brief reports of reunions and class reunion photos with the people identified in the order in which they appear are accepted for publication in the Living section.
