Calendar

The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.

Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

•The Mifflin County Chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees luncheon — Noon, May 20 at Birch Hill Event Center, 1100 N. Pine St., Burnham. The menu will be celery and carrots in ranch, pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, potato salad and fresh fruit cup. Cost of the meal is $14. The program will be the presentation of the John Dillon and Lauretta Woodson awards. •Garden to table — 6:30-7:30 p.m., May 24, (rain date May 26), at Rose Massie’s garden in Mattawana. Enjoy a visit to a working garden and learn basics about growing and harvesting vegetables. •’The Chosen’ movie — 6:30 p.m, Maple Grove Mennonite Church. See the dramatization of life of the disciples and walk with Jesus. Refreshments provided.
