Auditions slated for ‘Chicken Little’

High school and junior high students are encouraged to audition for Chicken Little, a musical for children composed by Bruce Trinkley with words by Jason Charnesky. The auditions for Chicken Little will be held at 7 p.m. today and Thursday at the Theater in the Park. Singers interested in auditioning for Chicken Little should be prepared to sing a song of his/her choice and to bring the musical score to the song, and willbe asked to read from the script.

Chicken Little will be performed on the weekend of July 29, 30 and 31. This familiar children’s take of rumor and manipulation, in which Chicken Little thinks the sky is falling and spreads fear among the birds in the farmyard, will be presented in musical form in the Theater in the Park in Kish Park, Burnham.

The cast is composed of nine adults and teenagers of all voice types. The wicked fox, who tries to fool Chicken little, must be a baritone. Pianists for the auditions, rehearsals and performances are Katie Becker and Joan Loewen.
