Juniata County School District budget will include 3.39 percent tax increase

MIFFLINTOWN – The Juniata County School District is set to vote on its general operating budget for 2021-2022, which includes a 3.39 percent tax increase if approved as proposed.
The proposed budget is balanced at $44,338,703, including a real estate tax of 67.7120 mills, a $5 per capita tax, $5 residence tax, $10 flat rate occupation tax, a 0.5 percent real estate transfer tax, a 0.5 percent earned income tax and a 5 percent amusement tax.
The school board is slated to vote on the budget during its meeting scheduled for 8 p.m., June 17, at the administrative office building.
