Only one new death in one out of five local counties according to data released Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Mifflin County reported one new case and no new deaths. There has been 4,833 cases and 175 deaths so far in the county. There are 8,131 people fully vaccinated, meaning they have received both of the required doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine or the one dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. There are 4,197 people partially vaccinated meaning they have only received one of the required two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine.
Juniata County reported nine new cases in addition to one new death. The county is at a total of 1,949 cases and 82 deaths so far. There are 10,424 people fully vaccinated and 3,518 people partially vaccinated.
In Snyder County, 10 new cases were reported with no new deaths. There has been 3,330 cases and 82 deaths so far. In Snyder County, there are 5,737 people fully vaccinated and 4,000 people partially vaccinated.
Huntingdon County, eight new cases were reported and no new deaths. The county is at a total of 4,614 cases and 127 deaths. There are 7,846 people fully vaccinated and 3,526 people partially vaccinated in Huntingdon County.
Perry County reported nine new cases and no new deaths. There has been 3,299 cases and 90 deaths so far in the county. Perry County has 4,739 people fully vaccinated and 7,129 people partially vaccinated.
Currently, there are two hospitalized COVID-19 patients and one COVID patient in the adult intensive care unit in Huntingdon County. In Mifflin County, there are 10 hospitalized COVID patients and one COVID patient in the adult ICU. There are no COVID patients using ventilators to assist breathing in either county according to the health department.
