LEWISTOWN — A Mifflin County Junior High School student was taken into custody by police and removed from the building Wednesday after threatening to commit an act of violence at the school, according to the Mifflin County School District.
The district made the announcement via its Skylert messaging system.
MCSD said no violence occurred and no one was harmed. The district also said police will file charges against the student, whose identity was not revealed.
“The district is extremely proud of the courage of our junior high students that brought this matter immediately to the attention of their teachers and principals,” MCSD said in a statement.
Students remained at the school until normal dismissal time Wednesday afternoon.
