Police release more details about Wednesday night shooting in Lewistown

LEWISTOWN — One man has been arrested for shooting another man several times Wednesday night on Valley Street in Lewistown Borough, according to a report from Lewistown Police Department.

Police said 21-year-old Victor Guzman-Ortega, of Lewistown, shot 20-year-old Trevor T. Taylor, also of Lewistown, after the two had been fighting at around 8:17 p.m. near the intersection of North Spruce and Valley streets.

Police said Taylor was taken to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital and then flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville with life-threatening injuries after Guzman-Ortega shot him multiple times, resulting in several gunshot wounds.

Police have stated there is no further danger to the public related to this incident and is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has video surveillance footage of the incident to call (717) 248-6716 or (717) 248-9607.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
