Mifflin, Juniata counties see single-digit case counts

One new virus death in Snyder, Perry counties

Mifflin and Juniata counties each had single digit new cases of COVID-19 while other counties saw higher totals, according to data released Friday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Mifflin County reported nine new cases and no deaths. Mifflin County has had 4,616 cases so far and 170 deaths. A total of 3,777 people in Mifflin County are fully vaccinated, meaning they have either received both doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech shot or the Moderna shot or have received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. There are 3,796 people partially vaccinated in Mifflin County, meaning they’ve received only the first dose of a two-dose vaccine.

In Juniata County, six new cases and no deaths were reported. Juniata Count has had 1,836 cases and 81 deaths so far. In Juniata County, 1,669 people are fully vaccinated and 1,843 are partially vaccinated.

In Snyder County, 15 new cases were reported, as was one death. Snyder County’s totals are now 3,072 cases and 81 deaths. There are 2,693 people fully vaccinated and 3,048 partially vaccinated in the county so far.

Huntingdon County saw a spike of 53 new cases reported Friday, but no deaths. Huntingdon County’s official tallies are now 4,308 cases and 124 deaths. A total of 3,403 people are fully vaccinated while 3,665 are partially vaccinated in the county.

Perry County reported 10 new cases and one new death, making their totals 2,928 cases and 86 deaths. There are 1,676 to have been fully vaccinated while 2,339 are partially vaccinated in Perry County.

A total of six COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalize in Mifflin County, none of which are in the adult intensive care unit nor using a ventilator to assist with breathing. In Huntingdon County, there are five COVID-19 patients in the hospital with two in the ICU. No Huntingdon County COVID patients are using a ventilator, according to the health department.

Perry County: 10 new cases, 2,928 total; 1 new death, 86 total; 1,676 people fully vaccinated; 2,339 partially vaccinated
