Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown

¯Crash – On Dec. 14th, at 7:49 a.m., a crash occured at the intersection of Industrial Park road and William Penn Highway in Walker Township. 72 year old, Linda Beatty, from McAlisterville was turning left from Industrial Park Road onto William Penn Highway in a 1998 GMC Jimmy without proper clearance. Beatty turned into the path of a 2011 Chevrolet Colorado driven by 66 year old, Barney Kearns, who was traveling Southbound on Industrial Park Road. Kearns hit Beatty at the 12 o’clock position causing disabling damage to both vehicles. No one was injured.

¯Harass Physical Contact – On Jan. 9th, at 7:00 p.m., police responded to Flatland Drive in Bratton Township to the report of a harassment. A 47 year old female from Biglerville, Pennsylvania, struck a 27 year old female from Lewistown, Pennsylvania, in the face and pushed her during a birthday party. A Non-Traffic Citation was filed in District Court 58-3-01.

¯DUI on View Drugs – On Jan. 7th at 11:55 p.m., the PA State Police is investigating a suspected DUI at Earlystown Road in Harris township. It is suspected that a 42 year old male from, Fort Walton Bea, Flordia was driving his Ford while high from West Virginia until he ran out of fuel in Central, PA.

¯Crash – On Jan. 1st, at 5:59 p.m., police responded to a crash on highway US22 East, west of the Thompsontown exit in Delaware Township. The crash occurred as driver, Kevin Reiff, 34, was traveling Eastbound on US22E just west of the Thompsontown off ramp. As Reiff was traveling in the left lane of travel, Reiff began to lose control of his 2016 Honda Pilot due to there being ice on the bridge. Reiff turned sideways and traveling into the right lane of travel and struck the end of the bridge. Reiff came to a final stop facing both travel lanes alongside the highway. Both the operator and passengers had their seatbelts on and were in the required seats. Reiff will be cited for VC3361 Driving Vehicle and Safe Speed.

¯Crash – On Jan. 4th, at 6:56 p.m., police responded to 36 King St, Menno Township for a one vehicle crash. The driver of a 2018 Nissan Rogue went on the left side of the roadway and struck a snow bank. The vehicle was still drivable and no injures were sustained.

¯Drug Possession – On Jan. 9th, at 4:39 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe for traveling 95 MPH in a properly posted 65 MPH zone. It was discovered that the driver and two passengers were traveling from Maryland and were in possession of marijuana. The driver and two passengers, were arrested for possession of small amount of marijuana. Charges were filed in District Court 41-3-02.

¯Overdose – On Jan. 6th, at 7:51 p.m., police responded to a report of an overdose at Parson Drive in Wayne Township. The report only states the victim being Wilbert McCartney, 57, from Mount Union, Pennsylvania.

¯Theft of Services – On Jan 10th, at 2:45 p.m., police is investigating a theft of services at Milroy OIP in Armagh Township. The stolen property includes full white trash bags. No arrests have been made.

¯Corruption of Minors – On Jan. 1st, at 8:41 a.m., police received a report of corruption of a minor on Kingston Lane in Decatur Township. This investigation is ongoing.

¯Crash – On Jan. 1st, at 2:18 a.m., a crash occurred on US Highway 522 North in Decature Township. Denise Aumiller, 50, from Lewistown was traveling south on US Highway 522. Aumiller, driving a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina, traveled off the left side of the roadway striking an embankment and a tree causing the vehicle to be disabled. Aumiller sustained suspected minor injures and was transported to Lewistown Hosiptal ER for an evaluation. Assisting on scene were Decatur Fire Company and FAME EMS. Parson’s Towing removed the 1995 Chevrolet Lumina from the scene.

¯Cruelty to Animals – On Jan. 8th, at 3:52 p.m., police investigated an animal cruelty incident where a dog was shot and killed in Wayne Township. The dog was aggressive and attacked another dog prior to this. No arrests have been made.

¯Alcohol Buy/Possess/Transport – On Jan. 10th, at 2:14 a.m., police responded to North St in Mifflintown Boro in an attempt to locate a Juvenile. The Juvenile was located. Charges were filed through District Court 41-3-01.

¯Harrass Physical Contact – On Jan. 10th, at 8:00 p.m., in Walker Township, a domestic incident took place. The actor, a 51 year old male from Mifflintown, struck the victim, 47 year old female from Mifflintown, twice in the arm. The actor will be cited through District Court 41-3-02.

Lewistwon Police Department

¯Disorderly Conduct – On Jan. 8th, 10:11 a.m., police responded to the report of a male who had opened a pocketknife in the Lewistown Post Office and waved it around while asking where his receipt was. No one was threatened during the incident but the male’s behavior was odd and disturbing to a postal employee. The male was Juan Santiago-Rodriguez, 57, from Lewistown. He was cited with Disorderly Conduct.

¯Theft of Services – On Jan. 8th, at 8:35 a.m., police responded to the report of trash bags dumped in a Borough dumpster which requires tags to be purchased in order to use the dumpster. The offender, Brian Rodgers, 51, of Lewistown, was cited with Theft of Services.

¯Warrant – On Jan. 1st, at 4:55 a.m., police responded to the Minit Mart on East Walnut Street for a disturbance between two males. One of the males, Rayvon T. Strange, 35, from Mt. Union, was found to have an active Mifflin County warrant with commitment. He was taken into custody and logded at Mifflin County Correctional Facility.

¯Traffic Crash – On Jan. 1st, at approximately 2:58 a.m., a Lewistown Borough Police Officer observed a male stumbling in the middle of South Walnut Street. Upon further investigation, the male was found to be severely intoxicated. The male fled on foot to the area of South Pine Street and Valley Street where he was arrested. The male was Eric Shilling Jr., 20 years old. The male was treated at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital for minor injuries.
