JCSD to purchase new vehicles
School board OKs district personnel changes
MIFFLINTOWN – The Juniata County School District is set to replace two district vehicles.
During a virtual school board meeting held via zoom Thursday night, directors voted unanimously to approve the purchase of two 2021 Ford Transit vans. The cost is $70,720, to be paid by ESSER Health and Safety grant funding.
Also during the meeting, the board approved:
¯Meeting minutes from Dec. 3 and Jan 13.
¯ Financial reports and bills for payment.
¯List of individuals exonerated from paying per capita taxes.
¯ Compensation for tax collectors as follows; $3.40 per real estate payment for 2022, $3.50 for 2023, $3.60 for 2024, and $3.70 for 2025. The compensation rate for each per capita tax bill is $2.
¯Changing names of co-signers on district bank accounts to current employees of the administrative office, to include board secretary Polly S. Digon, board president Mark F. Wagner and treasurer Richard A. Meily II.
¯ Accelerated Budget Opt Out Resolution Certifying Tax Rate Within Inflation Index.
¯Resignations of Emily R. Strawser, Juniata High School paraprofessional, effective Dec. 14; David M. Portzline, East Juniata Elementary School teacher, effective Feb 14.; Nicole A. Foltz, EJES secretary and nurse, effective Dec. 23; Jamie A. Geedy, crossing guard, effective Dec. 30; Joy L. Leitzel, EJES paraprofessional, effective Jan. 1; Ashley E.
