Holiday Stroll underway in downtown Lewistown
Decorations set up from Wayne St. to Dorcas St.
LEWISTOWN – The Holiday Stroll is underway in downtown Lewistown.
Now through Sunday, stroll the sidewalks on Market Street starting at the intersection of Wayne Street and heading toward Dorcas Street.
Visitors will notice decorations below their feet to above their heads as they walk along, including the sidewalk chalk murals by Calvary Church in Lewistown to the new holiday banners on the light poles. Plus, the Downtown Lewistown Adopt-A-Planters are filled with all types of plant materials.
Don’t forget to peer in the windows of the downtown businesses to see their displays including student artwork, tiny villages, Christmas trees, vintage toys, and the Merry Mannequins.
The Merry Mannequins are located at the following locations: Lewistown Printworks, West Side Gallery, UCP of Central PA, Amy B’s Hair Salon, Juniata Valley Bank, Zion Hair Salon, MCS Bank and the former Glick’s Shoe Fly. Designers of the dress forms are: Nancy Aurand, Deborah Bargo, Michelle Fetter, Anney and Emille Fisher-Henson, Ashley Henry, Juniata Valley Bank, Sandra Knapik, Lisa Knudson, Rosemary Lepley, MCS Bank, Morgan Messerman, Mifflin County Library, Rhonda Moore, Judy Mummau, Kathryn Newcamp, Kellie Sheetz, Michelle Traxler and Lynne Weaver.
While you are looking in the windows, make sure to have a Candy Cane Count entry form along to tally the number of candy canes found. The entry forms are located on the front porch of the Historic Courthouse, Snowflake’s on the Square, The Square Cafe and Bakery or online at www.jrvvisitors.com. Return completed forms to the mailbox on the porch of the Historic Courthouse for a chance to win a prize courtesy of the Juniata Valley Bank.
