Local Scott Kauffman honored by Academy
LEWISTOWN — Each week, The Academy is recognizing the recipients of our 2019-2020 Alumni Awards. Each of these individuals and businesses have made a significant impact on the school and the community.
For more than 50 years, the school has graduated students that have demonstrated the importance of service, the merits of hard work, and the value of career and technical education. The Academy appreciates MCS Bank for sponsoring this year’s awards.
The recipient of the Young Alumni Award is a 2019 graduate of The Academy and was a member of the Construction Club. During his senior year, he was selected as the top senior in the Electrical Installation program.
Since graduating, he has been employed at Johnson Controls, installing fire alarms in commercial buildings. Currently working through their apprenticeship program, he is on track to be running projects next year and having apprentices working under his leadership. He continues to give back to The Academy, however, by speaking with graduating seniors.
In his own words, “Enjoy your senior year, but don’t let things get in the way of your goals. Getting up at 5 a.m. is real.”
For his leadership on the job and service to the school, the Young Alumni Academy Award for goes to Scott Kauffman.
