Little Buffalo State Park’s calendar announced
NEWPORT — Little Buffalo State Park’s October calendar has been announced.
All programs are free but require registration unless otherwise noted in order to comply with COVID-19 guidelines. To register, go to the DCNR Calendar of Events and search under Little Buffalo or Boyd Big Tree Preserve https://events.dcnr.pa.gov/little–buffalo–state–park
¯ Shoaff’s Mill is open for tours until Demo Days — Saturdays & Sundays 1 to 3 p.m. until October 18. the last day of operation for the year.
¯ Reptiles & Amphibians on Stage — Saturday, Oct. 3, 10 to 11 a.m.
¯ PA Furbearers — Saturday, Oct. 3, 4 to 5 p.m.
¯ Reptiles & Amphibians at Boyd — Sunday, Oct. 4, 10 to 11 a.m.
¯ Little Buffalo History Walk — Sunday, Oct. 4, 4 p.m.
¯ Fall Tree Walk & Talk — Saturday, Oct. 10 at Boyd Big Tree Preserve, 10 to 11:30 a.m.; Wednesday, Oct. 14, 5-6:30 p.m. at Creek Trail
¯ Bats! — Saturday, Oct. 10, 7 to 8 p.m.
¯ Creatures of the Night: Halloween — Friday, Oct. 30 7 to 8 p.m.
Homeschool days are Oct. 7 (We’re Talkin’ Trees); Oct. 21 (Radical Reptiles); Oct. 23 (Marvelous Mammals); and Oct. 29 (Incredible Invertibrates). All but Marvelous Mammals have events at 10 a..m and 2 p.m.; mammals has one session at 10 a.m. Registration of parents and children is required.
Participants must bring facial coverings to all programs and wear when in close proximity to staff or other visitors.
