Editor’s note: The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in this community calendar for three days before the event. Events needing reservations also may be promoted for up to two weeks prior to the reservation date.

¯Chief Logan High School Class of 1965 lunch — noon, picnic lunch at Derry Field (Hilltop Playground). Hot dogs provided bring a side if you wish.

¯Blood drive–12:30-6 p.m., Trinity United Methodist Church. Appointments are required. For appointments and “Rapid Pass” visit www.redcross.org.

¯Hillbilly Food Festival — 4-8 p.m. at Possum Hollow Park, Beavertown. Rescue Hose Company specialties: hot sausage, fish sandwiches, cheeseburgers, hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, ice cream, milk shakes, Beavertown Home and School Club funnel cakes. Socially distanced picnic tables or take-out.

Friday, Aug. 14

¯PA National Guard Meet and Greet–Noon-4 p.m., Kish Park. Free lunch catered by Wingman’s Brew-N-Que, hands on experience with military equipment, Explore military career options, meet soldiers to learn about missions. Cornhole and rock wall.

¯Hillbilly Food Festival — 4-8 p.m. at Possum Hollow Park, Beavertown. ¯Kid Tennis Team Competition–10-11 a.m., Walnut Springs Racquet Club, Airport Road, Reedsville. For kids 7-12, cost is $25 and due the first day of class. Email Coach Eddie at walnutspringsracquetclub@gmail.com with your name and age and level of play.

¯Keystone State Muscle Cars cruise-in — 5-8 p.m. at Londonderry Restaurant, Milroy. Across from Rutter’s. Free event open to all.

¯Chicken barbecue — fundraiser to support McClure Youth Baseball from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at McClure Volunteer Fire Company.

¯Outdoor movie night — 7:30 p.m., Church Hill United Methodist Church, 199 Woodland Circle, Reedsville. This year’s movie is “Wonder Park.” Bring your own chairs, blankets snacks and drinks and remember to social distance.

Reunions

Upcoming reunions are published as part of the calendar. Missing classmate requests are published once and repeated only if updated. Brief reports of reunions and class reunion photos with the people identified in the order in which they appear are accepted for publication in the Living section.
