Local festival set for July 31 – August 1
Fayette Festival to be held at Lost Creek Park
MCALISTERVILLE–The Fayette Festival will be held on Friday, July 31, starting at 5 p.m., as well as all day on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Lost Creek Community Park located at 137 School Street, McAlisterville.
The festival is being held in place of the Fayette Community Carnival. The plan was put in place because of COVID-19. The Fayette Festival will benefit the Fayette Fire Company, Fayette Lions Club and Fayette Community Building Association.
Friday’s entertainment will be Make Mine Country at 7 p.m. Also featured Friday night at 10 p.m. will be fireworks by Skyshooter Fireworks. Saturday nights entertainment will be Bella Donna. A raindate is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1 at 10 p.m. There will also be games throughout the park.
On both Friday and Saturday nights, there will be Only One Bingo Game, a special cover all 50/50 Bingo, at 9 p.m. Promise Ranch Ministries will provide Pony Rides and a Petting Zoo.
The main eating stand will have a limited menu and there will be a limited number of food vendors as well. Chicken Barbeque halves will be available Saturday for pick up from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The halves are $6. Pre-purchase barbeque tickets can be ordered by calling Tammy at (717) 363-7261.
Bunkertown Relay for Life Team will provide a nine-hole miniature golf game Friday and Saturday evening. The McAlisterville Boy Scouts will have a Breakfast Stand Saturday morning.
The 25th Annual Car Show will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration for the show runs from 9 a.m. to noon. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, special vehicles, tractors or engines of any type are welcome. If you have any questions about the car show, you can call Herb at (717) 463-3561.
