Snyder County man imprisoned for sexual abuse

Sprenkle sentenced to 1-2 years

From staff reports

MIDDLEBURG — District Attorney Mike Piecuch has announced the sentencing of Anthony W. Sprenkle, 68, of Winfield, for sexual abuse of a minor female during the summer of 2018.

Sprenkle pleaded guilty to felony corruption of minors involving sexual misconduct and misdemeanor indecent assault during jury selection in Snyder County court in January.

President Judge Michael Hudock imposed a sentence of one to two years in state prison followed by five years of consecutive probation with special conditions for sexual offenders. Due to the nature of his offenses, Sprenkle was classified as a Tier 2 sexual offender under Megan’s Law and will have to register with the State Police as such for the next 25 years.

The sentencing was conducted using video conferencing technology.

Sprenkle, who is free on bail, was ordered to report to the custody of the Snyder County Prison to await transfer to state prison.
