Embassy Fair canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions

LEWISTOWN — The Friends of the Embassy Theatre announced Thursday that the annual Embassy Fair at Kish Park has been canceled due to Gov. Tom Wolf’s stay-at-home order designed to limit the spread of COVID-19.

“The Friends of the Embassy announce that our Embassy Fair, scheduled for the second half of April, has been cancelled,” said Paul Fagley, president of the Friends of the Embassy Theatre. “We had initially delayed cancelling, hoping that the COVID-19 restrictions and situation would ease, and that we could have given people a respite from having to sequester in their homes. We take the health and safety of our guests seriously, and were monitoring the situation as it evolved. We had already concluded that the fair likely could not take place, and had held off on further planning. With Governor Wolf’s stay at home order statewide through April 30, the fair cannot take place. We are still planning our LibertyFest, and hope that this event will take place as planned.”
