Board talks about bridge inspection

Juniata commissioners approve infrastructure plan

MIFFLINTOWN — An agreement with Wilson Consulting Group to perform condition inspections on short span bridges was approved by Juniata County Commissioners Tuesday during their weekly board meeting.

The estimated cost of the agreement is $41,325.

According to Commissioner Alice Gray, financing the agreement is paid for through an Act 13 grant.

As part of the agreement, the county has the ability to offer services to townships when they need bridge repair, “so it’s a win-win for not only the county as a whole, but as townships to have engineering work,” said Gray.
