Lewistown Police Department

¯ Crash– Dec. 5, at 6:17 p.m., police responded to 524 Farview Avenue for a crash. William Baumgardner III was on-scene for an EMS call and left his personal vehicle, a blue Jeep Compass, parked on Fairview Avenue. Eva Clark, 59, of Lewistown, was backing out of her driveway when she hit the jeep and scratched it slightly.

¯ Hit and Run–On Dec. 7, Hannah Noll, 25, of Lewistown, found the driver side rear of her 2006 Hyundai Elantra was damaged overnight. Noll parked her car on 67 Logan Street overnight on Dec. 6. The wheel was bent in and flat. No debris were found at the scene. Anyone with information is requested to contact Lewistown Police.

¯ Public Drunkenness, Disorderly Conduct– Dec. 8, at 5:05 p.m., police were dispatched to the 402 E. Walnut St. Minit Mart. Upon arrival, police contacted Barry Atwood, 35, who was intoxicated and creating a disturbance. Atwood was arrested and taken to MCCF, where he was issued citations for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

¯ Hit and Run– Dec. 8, at 4 p.m., a 51-year-old female reported her vehicle had been struck overnight at 168 N. Walnut St. The driver’s-side fender was damaged. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Lewistown Police.

¯ Warrant Service–Dec. 9, at 1 p.m., police located Charles Haynes, 27, of Lewistown, at his apartment at 20 S. Main Street, Apartment 101, after Haynes failed to show at court for a scheduled hearing. Warrents were then filed and carried out by police. Haynes was arrested and taken before a judge, where he was arraigned on previous criminal charges.

¯ Hit and Run– Dec. 9, at 10:55 a.m., police were dispatched for a hit and run in the area of South Wayne Street near Wilson’s Tire and Auto. The driver of a blue Dodge Dakota was reported to have hit the guard rail and left toward Snedeker’s gas station. The Dakota was reported to likely have front end damage. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. Anyone having knowledge of the incident please contact the Lewistown Police Department.

¯ Hit and Run– Dec.10, at 1:13 p.m., police responded to 30 Valley Street for a hit and run. An unknown vehicle had struck a block garage, putting a hole in it. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lewistwon Police Department.

¯ Possession of Paraphernalia–Dec. 12, at approximately 2:45 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop for an expired registration on a vehicle driven by Joshua Race, 35, of McAlisterville, on Green Avenue. During the stop, police discovered drug paraphernalia. Race also had an outstanding warrant. Charges were filed through MDJ Reed’s office for the paraphernalia.

¯ False Reports–Dec. 13, at 4:04 p.m., Kraig McKee, 38, of McClure reported that his rental car was vandalized the night prior, and he needed a police report to file with his insurance company. McKee told police that, while washing the car at the South Main St. car wash, a male juvenile threw a firework into the rental before running off, causing a burn in the back passenger seat. After reviewing the surveillance footage and speaking to neighbors, officers deemed his claims false. McKee was charged with false reports to law enforcement, a misdemeanor of the second degree.

¯ Domestic Disturbance–Dec. 14, at 6 a.m., police were dispatched to 274 W. Fifth Street for a domestic disturbance. An investigation revealed that Shelly Spriggle, 38, of Lewistown, was arguing with her boyfriend. The argument escalated, and Spriggle threw items and struck the male in the face. The 45-year-old male suffered minor cuts during the altercation. Spriggle had also smoked marijuana the night prior while on probation. She was arrested and faces charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and harassment.

¯ Possession of Marijuana–Dec. 14, at 6 a.m., , police went to 274 W. Fifth Street to investigate the domestic disturbance above. During the investigation it was learned Richard Moschgat, 45, of Lewistown, was in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Moschgat told officers where the items were and they were seized. Moschgat is now being charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.
