¯Drivers Safety Class for age 55 and older–noon – 4:30 p.m., Nov. 25 and 26, Valley View Retirement Center Chapel, Belleville. Class will be held in the chapel basement. Instructor is Nancy Simmons. ¯Free Thanksgiving meal–11 a.m.-1 p.m., Nov. 28, New Life Church, 101 N. Beech St., Burnham. The meal, which is open to all the community. Eat in, take out, or have meals delivered, anywhere in Mifflin County, for free, by calling 242-1481 no later than Nov. 22.

¯Bag sale — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sacred Hearts Thrift shop, 4 N. Dorcas St. $5 a bag, clothing and shoes.

¯Coffee with friends — 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Lack Tuscarora EMS, East Waterford. For seniors; no cost. There will be crafts, exercise, speakers and Bible study. Light lunch provided.

¯Port Royal Lutheran Church Holiday Bazaar–10 a.m. -2 p.m., Port Royal Lutheran Church, Port Royal. New handmade crafts and slightly used Christmas and holiday items. Homemade cookies, snacks and desserts. Soup by the quart will be available Saturday. Chicken corn, ham and bean and beef vegetable. Frozen homemade ready-to-bake mincemeat and caramel apple pies $12 each. Mincemeat pie filling only $10. Pies and filling must be preordered by Nov. 7. ¯American Red Cross Blood Drive–1:30 p.m.- 7 p.m., Lack-Tuscarora EMS, East Waterford.

¯Bluegrass Country Express with jam session — 5 p.m. kitchen opens, 6-9 p.m. band performs, 6:30 p.m. jam session, Four Seasons Senior Center, CJEMS Lane, state Route 35, Mifflintown. Food sales benefit the senior center. Admission is $2. Information: (717) 436-6847.

¯Mifflin County Chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees luncheon — noon, Nov. 15, Body and Soul Community Center, Strodes Mills. This month, members are asked to bring items or item for bazaar to support scholarship program. Price items for the bazaar.

Saturday, Nov. 16

¯All you can eat breakfast–6-10 a.m., Bannerville Fire Company. The menu includes made to order eggs, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, sausage gravy, dry beef gravy, bacon, scrapple, French toast, pancakes, home fries. Prices are $9.00 for adults, $4.50 for 5-12 years old and Free for children under 5 years old.

¯CJEMS vendor show — 8 a.m.-2 p.m., 47 CJEMS Lane, Mifflintown. Local businesses will have items for sale. Food stands will be open.

¯Clothing and shoe donations — 9 a.m.-noon, Evangel Baptist Church, 375 W. Fifth St., Lewistown. A volunteer will be there to assist.

¯Country Crossroads Senior Center Holiday Bazaar –9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Body and Soul Community Center, 245 Chestnut Ridge Rd., McVeytown. There will be baked goods, homemade crafts made by the seniors and other Holiday items will be for sale. All proceeds benefit the Senior Center.

¯Brick Saturday — 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Mifflin County Library, Lewistown, and Kish Branch Library, Belleville. Kids of all ages can come and play with Legos provided by the library.

¯Ohesson’s Annual Holiday Bazaar — 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Ohesson Manor, Lewistown.

¯Soup sale — 11 a.m., Nov. 16, Milroy Presbyterian Church, 321 S Main St. Vegetable beef, chicken corn and chicken noodle will be available. To order, call (717) 667-6530 by 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15.

Sunday, Nov. 17

¯Community Soup and Sandwich Lunch–11 a.m.-1 p.m., McVeytown Firehouse, McVeytown. Boy Scout units of McVeytown will be hosting a Community Soup & Sandwich and donations will be accepted at the door for the meal. Monies donated go to support each youth’s scouting experience.

¯Super Bingo –Doors open at 12, starts at 1 p.m., Millerstown Moose Lodge in Millerstown. There will be 20 cash games, raffles & more. Advance tickets are $20 but at the door, they will be $25. Tickets will be available from any Millerstown Lions Club member or at Bratton Insurance, Stitch in Time and Juniata Valley Bank all in Millerstown. ¯Sandy’s Scents “Holiday” Candle and Craft Bingo–11:30 a.m., McClure Volunteer Fire Company, McClure. Bingo starts at 1 p.m., tickets are $25.00 for 20 games. Advance tickets available for $20.00. Raffle tables, 50/50, door prizes will benefit the McClure Bean Soup Festival and Fair.

¯Free community meal — 4-5 p.m., St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lewistown.

Monday, Nov. 18

¯Starting Your Own Daycare–10 a.m.-noon, PA CareerLink Mifflin County, MCIDC Plaza, Building 58. An information session for anyone thinking about opening a day care, either in a home or in a facility. Questions will be answered about the process, certifications required, and policies to follow as a childcare business owner.
